How to I upgrade my server’s kernel?

How to I upgrade my server’s kernel?

InterServer offers free kernel upgrades on our dedicated servers. To upgrade please contact [email protected], or fill out a new ticket over our secure server, with your server name, ip address and root password. In order for an upgrade to be complete a server reboot must be done. If you do not wish to have your server rebooted by us after the upgrade please state so in the ticket.

We never advise to doing your own kernel upgrades unless you are familiar with the process. If done incorrectly your server can be rendered unbootable.

Our kernels are compiled with grsecurity, a security project at grsecurity.net sponsored by InterServer. This added protection is available at no additional charge. Please state in the ticket if you do not wish to have grsecurity.

If you need any further assistance please contact our support department.
